HAGS Barberwood Alcohol Aftershave Lotion

Barberwood is a collaboration between HAGS and Sully Cortez (@sullycortez), one of the best-known enthusiasts in the wet shaving community. It sits in the regular HAGS lineup, so it's available anywhere HAGS is sold. The goal was simple: bottle the feel of a traditional barbershop.

Sicilian lemon brightens a base of talc, musk and amber at the start. Myrrh, sandalwood and heliotrope warm up the middle. Underneath is the deeper, earthier part of the scent: patchouli, orris root, honey, vanilla, oakmoss and tonka bean, with a little oud and leather to give it a darker edge.

The Formula: Alcohol-Based Aftershave Lotion

This is the alcohol version of Barberwood, made on HAGS's current Tesseract (4,3,4) base. The alcohol gives it that classic quick-drying aftershave feel, and a blend of aloe, cucumber, calendula, witch hazel, chamomile and rose waters, plus sodium hyaluronate, glycerin and allantoin, keeps skin comfortable. A PEG-40 castor oil emulsifier keeps the lotion clear, and it absorbs fast with no greasy residue.

Barberwood is also available as an alcohol-free Witch Hazel aftershave.

How to Use

1. Shake the bottle well.
2. Put 5 to 7 drops in your palm.
3. Rub your hands together and press it onto freshly shaved skin.
4. Let it dry for a few seconds before moisturizer or any other skincare.
