HAGS Barberwood Shaving Soap

Barberwood is a collaboration between HAGS and Sully Cortez (@sullycortez), one of the best-known enthusiasts in the wet shaving community. It's part of the regular HAGS lineup, so you'll find it wherever HAGS is sold. The goal was to capture the feel of a traditional barbershop in a jar.

Sicilian lemon brightens a base of talc, musk and amber at the start. Myrrh, sandalwood and heliotrope warm the middle, and the base goes deeper and earthier with patchouli, orris root, honey, vanilla, oakmoss and tonka bean, plus a little oud and leather for a darker edge.

OSIRIS X Soap Base

OSIRIS X is HAGS's upgraded plant-based soap base. It's fully vegan, with no animal fat and no animal-derived substitutes, and it's made with the hot process method so the skin-friendly oils stay unsaponified. Compared with the original OSIRIS, you get a denser, more protective lather, slickness that lasts longer through the shave, and a base that can take a lot more water before it breaks down. Skin finishes soft and moisturized with no oily or tacky film. It's also sodium hydroxide (NaOH) free.

What's in it: murumuru seed butter for conditioning fatty acids, jojoba seed oil for a calm, balanced post-shave feel, apricot kernel oil for lightweight glide, avocado oil for extra conditioning, and kaolin clay for slip and cushion.

Directions

OSIRIS X is a firm croap, so do not bloom it. Load your brush straight from the surface for about 10 to 15 seconds, then build lather in a bowl or on your face, adding water gradually. It performs best when well hydrated and gives a dense, creamy lather.

The scent meter on the bottom of the jar shows fragrance strength once the soap is lathered, not how it smells straight out of the jar.
