The Awakening is a ripe, boozy peach with a dark side. The label art shows an ancient island guardian waking from a long sleep, and the scent has the same slow-burning heat.

Peach, blood orange and cardamom lead, with heliotrope adding a powdery touch. The heart brings rum, cognac, davana and jasmine, and the base is a deep amber-vanilla mix of Indonesian patchouli, tonka bean, sandalwood, benzoin, cashmeran, styrax, labdanum and vetiver. It lives in the same neighborhood as Tom Ford's Bitter Peach.

The Formula: Alcohol-Based Aftershave Lotion

This is the alcohol version of The Awakening, made on HAGS's Tesseract (4,3,4) base. The alcohol keeps the finish crisp and quick to dry, and the blend of aloe, cucumber, calendula, witch hazel, chamomile and rose waters, with sodium hyaluronate, glycerin and allantoin, looks after comfort. A PEG-40 castor oil emulsifier keeps it clear, and it absorbs quickly with no greasy film.

How to Use

  1. Shake the bottle well.
  2. Put 5 to 7 drops in your palm.
  3. Rub your hands together and press it onto freshly shaved skin.
  4. Let it dry for a few seconds before moisturizer or any other skincare.
